about

Essex, UK-based producer, DJ and live performer Sergio Vilas returns to SubSensory Recordings with his second full length album, Universal Child.

Universal Child builds on Sergio's strong discography on SubSensory, including the 2014 full length LP, 'Route 94,' and his 2018 vinyl-only 'Rebate EP,' released as part of the annual Record Store Day UK celebration. Sergio's tracks have been supported by the likes of Carl Cox, Colin Dale, Jon Rundell and Jaguar (on BBC 1). In fact, Carl Cox played many of Sergio's tracks on his 'Global' radio show.

Universal Child showcases Sergio's timeless techno sounds with a touch of soul. Listen closely and you'll hear the nods to Chicago, Detroit and of course, the UK sounds of Sergio's youth. Driving, often-jackin' percussion fused with pulsing chords and pumping bass make every track a dancefloor filler. Each track brings distinctive energy, from the stomping rhythms of Detroit Day and the hypnotic sub bass of Universal Child, to the minimalist atmosphere of Tubular.
